Facing Paradise

Recorded in December 2019 in New York City, "Facing Paradise," Joel's debut album as a leader, features six of his original compositions. Joel (guitar), Dan Montgomery (bass), and Tim Angulo (drums) first met at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity's International Jazz and Creative Music Workshop. Over the years, these three musicians have continued to play with one another in New York City, and they look forward to releasing more projects together in the future! The sound of Facing Paradise has been brought to life by Jacob Aviner (mixing) and Liberty Ellman (mastering and additional mixing). The beautiful guitar heard on these compositions was hand crafted by Japanese-Canadian Luthier, Sota Mori, on Vancouver Island in 2018.
